Hi Parents!
Volunteering in our club is so important and there are benefits of doing it! First, the kids see that this ministry is important for not just them but to you too!! Second, it helps us when we are short staffed to get sections completed. Nothing is worse for a kid to come prepared to say his/her verses and theres no one available to listen and sign them off. This year we are asking that parents volunteer for 5 nights in either Sparks or Truth and Training. Many of you have already done so but we still have several open spots. Please see the attached spreadsheets and pick the dates you want to volunteer. Send me an email with those dates so I can update the original spreadsheet. AWANA clubs desire to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train
them to serve Him. This is accomplished through emphasis on scripture
memorization and teaching. At AWANA, kids get to have fun, play games, make
friends and hide God’s Word in their hearts!
Cubbies Club – Ages, 3 and potty trained (2 years before Kindergarten) - 4
Sparks Club – Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
Truth & Training, 3rd – 6th Grade

Special Nights- Attached above is the Awana Calendar for 2011-2012. This year we our club will meet 30 times and it goes by FAST!
Fun Nights are always optional – you dont have to dress up but do come to Club that night because we will be running Club as normal (as normal as you can when kids come up to you with their clothes on backwards!). Its a hoot to see the kids express themselves creativley – its a great night to bring your camera!!
On the calendar you will also find that we have a few months dedicated to Adopt a Club and Operation Christmas Child. During the months of October and March we will be collecting coins for Adopt a Club. Every week we balance the coins the boys bring to the girls and at the end of the month, the team with the heaviest coins wins!! We will have an ice cream party – winning team gets toppings for their ice cream! yum! If your team doesnt win, dont worry, there will be a rematch in March!!
For Operation Christmas Child, we ask that you either bring in items to fill a box or go ahead and fill a box of goodies and bring them in! Kids love to support other kids and this is a great ministry to allow kids to do that!
We end the year with our Awards Ceremony. May 9th is the Awards Ceremony. Please plan on attending this event. It’s where our kids get to shine so add it to your calendar at home today!!
